Summary/Objective

This is a technical engineering position working with government or customer specifications and preparing ARi designs and manufacturing and testing procedures.

Essential Functions

  1. Reviews customer or government specifications to derive qualification, manufacturing and test procedures for ARi manufacturing and customer approvals when required.
  2. Works with Sales and Manufacturing Departments and with customer on product and specification changes
  3. Explores new modes or alternative steps of manufacturing which might be appropriate for the Company’s products or proposed products.
  4. Plans and designs modifications or alterations to the existing manufacturing processes.
    • Participates in assigned projects that require attention beyond the level of routine attention afforded by the manufacturing system.
    • Works to achieve lowest cost manufacturing consistent with acceptable quality, ensuring that accurate documentation is achieved in conjunction with that process.
    • May suggest procedures for prevention measures relative to the company’s manufacturing safety consciousness for reduction of accidents and worker’s compensation claims.
    • Suggests possible trouble aspects of the manufacturing procedures to limit rejections and maximize yields.
    • Explores the feasibility of manufacture for particular products or variations of products in order to satisfy customer requirements within the context of viable production operations.
    • May identify costs associated with the manufacture or fabrication of products within the group.
    • Duties also include the preparation of Designs and Procedures, as well as the interpretation of customer specifications and judgements regarding feasibility.
  5. Complete special projects and assignments as requested.

This job operates mostly in a professional office environment but does require frequent presence in production, inspection, shipping and inventory locations.

Hours: 7:30am to 4pm

Pay: 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

Job Details

  • Experience with interpreting technical proposals and requests for quotations.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD II
